Office of the Future

How do you print an entire building?

The Dubai Future foundation commissioned Projex to make the world’s first fully functional, 3D printed building.

Client: Dubai Future Foundation
Event: Office of the Future
Date: 2016
Venue: Future Foundation, Emirates Towers

The Office of the Future, at the foot of the prestigious Emirates Tower, showcases unique and innovative designs that reduce energy consumption or use the latest smart technology.

Projex were delighted to rise to the challenge of fabricating and furnishing the 3D printed building.

Cement was mixed with a bespoke
building material, designed and made
in the UAE and US and extensively
tested in the UK and China.

Finally, the plans sprung to life as a 120-foot long printer with a robotic arm printed the building and its furniture.
