Projex were appointed by the Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation to work with British Designer Jamie Greenaway who designed an exhibition space to display the works of Xavier Mascaro for his ‘Departure’ Exhibition. The aim of the design was to express to the public how the Spanish sculpture comes up with his works by portraying his influences, which are largely relevant to the UAE’s story.
Launched in 2015, Warehouse 421 is a cultural space supporting the UAE’s creative community and is suitably located in the port of Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi.
The Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation was founded by Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The mission of the foundation is “to invest in the future of the UAE by investing in its people”.
- Client: Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation
- Event: Xavier Mascaro ‘Departure’
- Date: 04 May 2016 – 04 September 2016
- Venue: Warehouse 421, Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi.
Within a short time frame Projex supported Jamie Greenaway design to transform the warehouse into a space to facilitate Xavier Mascaro’s story. The creative space was enhanced using steel sprayed mat black by 2 pac as well as 3D cut steel inciting parallel dialogues between the artworks and environment.
The customised installations allowed the public to naturally flow through the works into the story.
All banners participating in the story were printed in-house.
